The New Role of Technology towards Change

When we were developing the marketing concept for Affordable Books, the dream was mere integration of technology in every aspect of the business model. Either it be sales, shipping, customer service, contact, marketing and even product development. For some, they thought it was really strange as what happens to telemarketing and other adminstrative functions. People even question why we had this huge idea of financial management online.

So in order to clarify, what we wanted was one goal in mind. Meeting the customers needs and expectations. It's like urgency and prioritization when people go online to find out about something, do a research or simply solicit more information.

Having an online business model is extremely hard in case some people think it is easy. Why, because you have to streamline and connect all the dots together in every part of your operations. Not to mention that we are simply a struggling home based micro enterpise and or for some biggies a nobody in the e-commerce industry. Yet, our leverage is listening to the market and actively connecting with the human emotion and need.

Cost savings, value and growth opportunites are big for us which is why our mission is simply centered on affordability. Realistically, we know the plight of limited earners as we live the same life.

Yet empowering the customer and informatively giving factual content and experiences are very important to our existence. Privacy, security and personalized treatment are big for us. We believe that no matter who, what, where and how the way we interact ultimately will be the same treatment as any other customer or individual.

As we grow together with our readers, we have the ideology of responsibility towards change and thereby still integrating technology in every aspect of our business model.

The Future of E-books - a new frontier in space

Affordability and simplicity were the basic ingredients I had in mind even before I started ADLE International. Simple is cool especially when it is short and sweet.

A lot of my compadre's in the bookselling world knows that I am a special fan of Kindle and the Sony Reader. Not only do I believe in the technology, I believe that books should not be more than 100 pages long. Unfortunately, especially today these high tech book devices are still on my santa's wish list. Someday I will be able to afford and buy them because right now it is about basic food, shelter and survival.

In the future, not only will people merely read books using devices or online, it will gradually shift towards downloading techie stuff. With the power of "I need it now" or today, the sense of urgency deficts the need of e-books. Some say it's the economy, it's the recession yet some say it's the internet as books now are on massive sale up to 70% nowadays. The shift has now started thanks to our first high tech blackberry carrying US President Obama.

As you see, some blogs have now been use to pitch selling a product or service. But gone are the times of telemarketing or auto sales gimmicks. You can entice, you can pitch or even scare people but the online consumer nowadays has become sophisticated, intelligent and very geeky.

A few months ago while finalizing our business plan, we wanted to tell my mentors that publishing books were not just centered on printing but on electronic technology. Hopefully, some of my great teachers (which I adore greatly) now understands that I am a bit of a fortune teller. Not than i know who will win the elections but a simple truth of being a reinforcer about the gradual shift to technology. If you are reading this blog right now, you are just part of the millions who are now blogging enthusiast as blogging has become greatly such an important tool and for some authors like me has become some sort of best selling book.

I remember a few months ago when we were planning on the release of "How do u integrate success in a small business book" one of the things I requested was that it was formatted to the Apple I-phone format. It took the publishers a while to really take me seriously because why in the world will a short, simple online journal like my book be even read in I-phone format. Yet, anyways they finally did it and the traffic rankings can speak for itself today.

The concept of e-books is very specific and target niche in case some of my detractors are still thinking right at this minute. Fiction use to be bestsellers but in the day of recession and depression, people want reality and the truth. Thus, was why my book was very specific on my travails during the business planning class because e-books are about gravitating towards a focus niche.

So in order to answer the clamor of the readers, we simply finally got the domain called, www.howdoyouintegratesuccess.com so that those interested to buy them in I-Phone formats can now easily find the link a lot easier.

And yes, the future of e-books will be a new frontier in space. As a matter of fact there are already some entrepreneurial wizards already getting the same color and lay-out we did.

Blogging, The New Trend in the Virtual Community

Originally blogs came from web logs, which are online journals for writing and journalism. They are supposed to be noteworthy insights into your book, your work as an author and best part is that they always have new content.

It is estimated that there are about 50,000 blogs added everyday but of course that was before the mass lay-offs where people are not at home mostly online. Boring blogs normally don't get noticed like reading a newspaper article using the magic click of the finger.

In today's social media and networking, blogs has definitely built a lot of relationships. Going down the blogosphere, people are less limiting ways to be in contact with their readers. I still believe in the educational value of blogs which is why I always encourage comments, feedbacks, RSS, and subscriptions.

One of the best supporters in blogging is
www.google.com
the no. 1 search engine of all time. Google spiders the heck out of your site and even establishes ranking. A lot of people don't know that Google's Book Partner Program is very philanthropic as they are supporting emerging authors by giving them traffic and exposure. But if you also want to make some money from your blogs, why not try reviweing books using an Amazon.com affiliate link ID or another way is through the Google Adsense program.

A lot of my friends from the past had jokingly told me about being a celebrity web blogger but they also know that I have been writing since Grade One in Elementary School. Back then, I started writing in my school organ called "The Light" in english about current events. In high school to college I wrote as a features editor for School again called "Rosarian" until eventually became a part time contributing poltical writer in some newspaper dailies.

I write because it is the best form of my own self expression of ideas over and above public speaking for motivational topics like "Social Enterprises" as a gesture of helping express the voice of the community and people.

What I have discovered in blogging is being "factual". Your topic must be specific so your reader can understand what it is all about in the first 5 seconds before they press that mouse.

But ultimately, the goal is to compile this online journals in an e-book format about my life and the legacy that I want to leave behind.

After all, this all started in the vision of mentoring young entrepreneurs in becoming great leaders of tomorrow. Thus created,
Affordable Books
, the frugal dude and How Do you Integrate Success Book in fighting for the rights of limited income earners, the disabled, seniors and the unemployed.

Hey Paparazzi Can You Ask Instead of Getting Smapshots

As any human being, we know what are the best angles for photography especially since I am not your typical hollywood celebrity ok.

I guess I should just re-acquaint myself with the press back in the old days. On a typical day waiting for the typical public transport that I now take I suddenly notice two paparazzo's trying to make a distinct snapshot. Oh yeah, I wasn't born in the old days as I know when I see one. But certainly, are they sure they are not wasting their film, oh sorry it's perhaps digital nowadays anyways.

The freaks followed to the regular cheap nearby pharmacy where I buy the usual one soda to kick my day with "caffiene". Nobody told no one about changing the trend to affordability and frugality, it just so happen on the right timing ok.

At least with us and those millions like us who live in poverty in America everyday, the only difference is that suddenly people are realizing how hard it is to be poor, limited income, powerless, nobodies and surviving day to day.

We were not trying to make a trend but we were merely stating our voices on how hard our lives had been. As they say, the only way for other people to feel another person's situation is when they live the same type of life and the same type of environment. It just so happen a new president got elected who knows what it is to live on the streets as he himself had the experience of doing it before.

The good news is that we know that this was not just all about politics. Change was also about society, about uplifting human lives, access to services, access to affordable products, universal health care and really caring for the oppressed disadvantage sectors of our society.

So rather than using "affordability" as a media blitz, think first why we use it in our business model while at the same time being an active voice about what needs to be done. Got it?

Chaos or Community, Please No Scapegoats for Bad Economics

Mainstream media author Holly Scklar once wrote a great book called "Chaos or Community" which talking points centered on poverty, seeking solutions not excuses and scapegoats about bad economics.

I remember reading the book talking about inequalities in economics where she cited that an example that 1 percent of America's rich had nearly much equivalent wealth to 95% of the bottom line. In these families, at least a fifth of the children lived in extreme poverty in the wealthiest nation on earth, America.

When we undercount poverty towards unemployment having even a job will not be the key towards getting out of extreme poverty. Thus in the unemployment environment ike today, economics is a good prescription for chaos as Holly describes in her book.

Hence, credit is due to the first week of the present administration as so far it understands having a sustainable development as it starts a new environment of pro-people, pro-jobs and pro-nature. Some people have the thinking that this is traditional washington politics but it is not as the greatest minds are in this economic team.

Back in the days when Martin Luther King was assasinated, he was assasinated while organizing one of the great Poor People's Campaign. King was trying to focus on stopping the ways we scapegoat on wealth redistribution. Thus ending how our financial system redlines discrimination by strengthening again the "Community Reinvestment Act" and creating more free trade zones might just be a good start.

And in final I commend the new president for enforcing the much needed laws on "Nondiscrimination". Society needs nondiscrimination laws enforcement and creating new ones without prejudice to race, culture, gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, marital status, sexual orientations, immigration status and or political beliefs.

Yes, Mr. President you can and you will as right now you have everyone on your side.

Expressing your Voice as part of the 8th Habit during stressful recessions

In times like the present economic hardship and difficulties we face today, a lot of people look up to people they cherish and admire in order for them to get some tips on coping with their daily lives. Any author like the recently deceased John Updike who has profound influence on others represents leadership and vision.

During the course of studying lives of great achievers and leaders, we notice about a pattern and routine that made their significant contributions simply made notable and important. Through their persistent efforts and inner struggle, they have greatly expanded their four main human intellect and capabilities. the highest of these capabilities focuses on mental vision, physical discipline, emotional passion and spiritual conscience. Such manifestations also seem to prove the means of expressing their voice.

Vision is seeing a future state with the mind's eye. It is applied imagination. Things being created twice through mental and physical and then we begin the process of reinventing our own self.

Years ago when I used to give public speeches on entrepreneurship, I seemly represent my own desire, my dreams, my goals and future plans. Some people thought if they were just mere fantasies or reality. But in my own inner self, I know the immeasureable power and capacity I can in reinventing my own life. Thus, vision is infinite and is greater than history, greater than emotions, or baggages of the past. So when we talk about vision, we should always consider on what is "out there", what can other people see and their potential.

Just like when we we use to talk about affordability to the limited income earners at
www.affordable-booksonline.com
was the time that the present was enjoying the fruits of the material world. That time we can only connect to real poor and the homeless people whom did not see the great recession coming. They have not even seen the bottom line yet. So as we travel to this new atmosphere of change, having the first african american president in the White House of the greatest nation on earth.

As any great achiever or philospher like Aristotle said, "Where talents and the needs of the world cross, therein lies your vocation" So as we create a new passion in our lives, perhaps finding our own unique talents, our special role and purpose might be that motication we need to get through life no matter how hard it is.

As we now move to seek a more deeper understanding of the challenges beneath it is just appealing for us us to look into the 4 major roles of leadership - Vision, Discipline, Passion and Conscience.

So no matter what horrible circumstances are in our daily lives today due to this stressful environment, it is such circumstances that we will find our own individual calling and true voice within.

Lowering but getting Insurance is a necessity today

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu.

Quoted from:

Lower Your Insurance PremiumsFor many people, particularly those with a family that depends upon them, having an insurance plan in place is a necessity. With a policy in place, parents can take comfort in knowing that their children will be taken care of. Similarly, even if you do not have children, a life insurance plan will guarantee that your spouse is able to handle the financial burdens of your funeral and will also be able to afford to maintain the lifestyle you have built together.

Although insurance is a necessity for most, that doesn’t mean you have to pay high insurance premiums

Dreams of My Father, A Story of Race and Inheritance

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu.

January 20, 2009 signifies the making of history in the United States almost 25 years after the assasination of Rights Activist Leader, Martin Luther King. In this great moment also translates the unsetimental and compelling memoir in his book, Dreams if My Father by Barack Obama.

The son of a black African father and an american mother searches for a workable meaning to his life as a black American with Asian roots from Indonesia, Kenya and Hawaii. Dreams of my father starts from the story when Barack loss his father through a car accident. This then leads to a emotional odyssey in a small town in Kansas to the family's migration to Hawaii, Kenya where he reconciles his divided inheritance.

Eventually we know that Barack Obama was elected 44th President of the Unites States on November 4, 2008 and is known for his bestselling books, "The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams of My Father".

In page 51 of his book, Dreams of My Father he remembers coming across the pictures of a black man in Life magazine who tried to peel off his skin. Today starts a new era in race, gender and ethicity towards equality and freedom in America.

Hopefully, in the coming days there will be indeed changes to a once deeply racially moticated society towards free enterprise and market capitalism. May this be the start to signal that even the poor, under privilege nobodies, small businesses, disabled and ethic minorities have a right to be treated fairly in this new era.

As the new President takes over a deep chaotic financial mess may this dreams of his father lead him in making the right decisions towards prosperity.

Macworld convention in San Francisco without Mr. Apple

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu.

After meeting some friends today for the Macworld convention we have all were amazed first on the real cold winter breeze coincides with the not so unusual crowd drawing people even at nearby hotels near the convention center.

In the fast years, this convention was really some spectacular event which droves a lot of hotel lobbies, bars and restaurants to be a real busy meeting area. Since the predominance of Apple and Steve Jobs aura is no longer felt, I guess the sudden chilly weather became more a talking point as it has never been this cold since 1999 when the stock market collapse 10 years ago during a recession.

Well, maybe will just have to wait on what the turn out exactly would be and if there will still be new tech toys to expect in the few days on a more quiet MACWORLD conference,

How do you celebrate X'mas during a recession?

How do you celebrate X'mas during a recession?

It's chilly on christmas winter with last minute shoppers trying to buy their last minute presents. Yet, it still sparks the question of how one will survive for tomorrow in a day and age of online technology yet broke and penny pinching each day.

As we celebrate Christmas 2008, there are so many mixed feelings about life nowadays. One common question we hear is what happen? How did we get to this ordeal of hardship? Yet, on another angle we celebrate life on what blessings we have and face the common reality of economic uncertainty.

With barely a month for the 44th President of the United States to be inducted into office facing one of the greatest economic challenges of our era, let us remember that life after all is not just about material wealth, it is something to be cherish and let us asked ourselves why we continue to live day by day.

Each of us have different economic situations right now but generally everyone's finances is tight. But perhaps we have to face the reality and accept this reality that we have to give courage, hope, love and inspiration which is the entire meaning of life.

To all our readers who have constantly followed us online through the years, our loyal customers who have always continued buying our books and products at ADLE International, many thanks and warmest X'mas blessings.

Warmest regards,

Size 10 Shoe Throwing Incident and Cultural Diversity

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu. As the headlines recently reported about the shoe throwing incident in Iraq to a foreigh leader made a lot of headlines. But nevertheless, we have to understand somehow that people have different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and up bringing.

As such international incident gave a spotlight yet a concern for the security of the most powerful man in the world, we should also try to understand why people do such things sometimes because of the different adversities they go through and sometimes times are such so tough that we foget the consequences of our actions.

As the global economic recession get's deeper in the light of an incoming administration hopefully we can acknowledge that we have to be more sensitive to the issues at hand. Though, there is a lot of the plate of a new leader, maybe it is a sign of the times that we remember that people have lives, feelings and hopes.

I still need to see more younger generation of young entrepreneurs and leaders with new ideas that should be heard than the typical political experiences. But regardless, how an incident is understood, we still have to respect that a foreign leader still deserves the respect and dignity.

As we age in life we learned from a lot of our mistakes as it is not a perfect world. The reality is how to learn from these mistakes and likewise understand the cultural beliefs and diversity of people.

FYI, Mr. President Elect - Choose Your People Wisely

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu. FYI, Mr. President Elect - Choose Your People Wisely

It might be overwhelming because of the so much huge expectations before inauguration with the new bailwicks in Washington but as you said at the end of the day you have to take responsibility.

Like the so many of us who were really fighting for change all this time during your campaign yet we know we are going to be be forgotten again when you are finally in power. All we ask is that you remain cautious as you have done so before and at least always stick to the main goal.

The temptations of the politicians will always be there, the power of the rich and powerful and the so called corporate smarts. But just remember, change was about identifying people who are unheard with but has the qualifications because they have been there once and sufferred from the very same capitalism.

I remember in November 1997 during the APEC Economic Leaders Summit then President Bill Clinton was very open to the recommendations of the youth component, women and other minorities. He knew that it has been proven before that only through acknowledging the small laymen and citizens were the basic ingredient of having a surplus to live behind. The Asian Financial crisis was just starting then prior to the Stock market collapse of 1999 but the key for investors was belief in the administration and the chain of command.

The last eight years became the opposite when wrong decisions were made and stuhbornness started.

We are hopeful that you have still the youthful reluctance of becoming really idealistic yet realistic as to why who have won so much respect in all sectors and arena.

So Mr. President Elect yet we may not be even qualified to be in your list on your induction, at least show us the sign that you will remain the same.

The Holiday Season - A new Hope with a new President

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu. Christmas 2008 is here finally. A new story begins having elected a new President for Change in America while the Global economy succumbed with fear of job losses, foreclosures and bankruptcies.

As we look forward on what 2009 will bring, let us reflect on a more positive outlook. The elections and campaigning are over. Gone are the Joe the Plumber anecdotes and trickles of terror attacks are on the other side of the world. Come to think of it all of this chaos is simply cause by the disastrous effects of a global recession and poverty.

Although it is good to be current on world events, painting the picture towards hope is a challenge for each and everyone of us. As we survive each day thankful that we are still alive, perhaps a little optimism will help us go through each day.

We might not be heard and even be forgotten by the new Washington politicians waiting to check out their offices in Washington come January 2009. But the fact is we have done our part to elicit change and pave the way for the new direction needed.

As we celebrate a new season of change and joy, let us not forget that having hope is a necessary part of living our lives.

It is done, Change is here to come, God Bless America

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu. It is done, Change is here to come, God Bless America

History has been made with millions of us over the months of fighting for change. As in any political campaign, we know that when it is said and done we are back to being nobodies, powerless, and low income.

However, let us not forget that all of us had done this to make a change. All we can do is give the chance to a younger president hopefully a president for the people. Let us pat each and everyone's back for letting history unfold as the 44th President elect Barack Obama starts a new phase of history in America.

For years, I personally just kept silent as we all know how dirty the world of poltiics is all about. However, suddenly it felt it was so overwhelming anymore and I just felt if I don't say anything even though it will not good for me anyways, I felt and perhaps I a lot of you did then "change" will never come true.

There are two important things that are components in this election, the power of the youth, our future leaders of tomorrow which I have been fighting for personally and the new era of technology in installing this president.

Let us rejoice, be happy and hope with little expectations that our efforts might be forgotten in the crazy world of poltiics. But, we done our part, powerlesss, nobodies, low income just wanting a change in our lives. THE Economy is the number one task right now.

Who will bail me out now, sound familiar

The reality is it's easier said than done. What if someone is doing their best, I can help but be amaze that finance wizards are talking about debt consolidation or even bankruptcy, is that a good financial education?

I guess the geniuses needs to add fresh content in their writings so they would advice everything they can create to still have popularity and ratings. However, unless you live like us that are the ones trying to survive, how dare can they understand one's situation.

Was it a reality check that this were the same people saying to people that one should not take out their 401K's and this was just an economy correction and not recession? This very people are also the same now in saying that this is just a recession and not the great depression. When people cannot hardly eat healthy meals daily then for them it is still ok just because they are still ok with there enormous fortunes and cash.

This is reality time and no longer a time for predatory gimmicks as people are starving, anxious and helpless. What such great finance experts and whiz should do is at least admit the reality that every middle and low income class in having a hard time. Do what you can to be responsible to honor and pay our commitments while still on survival mode for ourselves and our families.

Instead, the emphasis should be on our individual physical, emotional and spiritual health. After all if we get sick then we do not have the chance to get by and co-exist. People are angry on what is going on but they are also admittedly recognizing the uncertainty. But the last thing they need to get more croppy ill educated advice from so called experts who are good in enriching their ownselves.

Hello, let us wake up and be more real so that people can get more confident that there is hope.
